As we wrap up August 2024, I am excited to share the exciting progress we've made across our platform and ecosystem.

Highlights included the launch of The Winners Circle's prediction game, our native $ZIL token being listed on SwissBorg, and impressive progress being made on the upcoming Jasper proto-testnet for Zilliqa 2.0.

As we approach the launch of the first milestone on the Zilliqa 2.0 roadmap, I encourage everyone to explore the features of our new, upgraded network and try out the proto-testnet once available.

I look forward to what the next month will bring as we continue to innovate and grow together.

$ZIL listed on SwissBorg

In a significant milestone for our community, $ZIL has been listed on SwissBorg, a leading European exchange. This listing not only broadens $ZIL’s accessibility to a wider audience but also enhances our presence in the European market. 

To celebrate this achievement, Matt Dyer and Zoltan Fazekas joined SwissBorg for an AMA to discuss the implications of this listing and what it means for Zilliqa’s future​.

Zilliqa named among top 100 blockchain companies

Last month, Zilliqa was featured in a list of the top 100 blockchain companies by World Future Awards! We were thrilled to see this recognition of our continuous efforts to innovate and drive value in the blockchain space. 

Winners Circle launches prediction game

August saw The Winners Circle, the Web3 loyalty platform powered by Zilliqa, launch its skill-based prediction game. 

The game allows horse racing fans to use their skills to predict race outcomes and win rewards, enhancing their engagement and experience.

Ongoing work on Jasper proto-testnet

Our tech team has been hard at work on the Jasper proto-testnet, which will be the first milestone on the Zilliqa 2.0 roadmap. 

Partners such as PlunderSwap have already begun to prepare for the launch through extensive testing of the new consensus mechanism, which will deliver much faster block times and better efficiency.

Diving into Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)

Our commitment to interoperability and expanding Zilliqa’s capabilities has seen us embrace Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) for Zilliqa 2.0.

We published a blog post explaining what EVM is, why it is significant for the blockchain space, and what it means for developers and users interacting with the Zilliqa network.

Our Head of Investor Relations, Bradley Laws, was recently interviewed by Bitcoin.com, where he discussed Zilliqa’s strategic direction, upcoming developments, and insights into the broader blockchain landscape.

At the end of August, Zilliqa’s social accounts had a makeover, refreshing our image across various platforms as we ramp up towards the launch of our fresh new network with Zilliqa 2.0.

Upcoming events

The Zilliqa team and Group representatives will be attending Token2049 Singapore in September this year, and members of the Zilliqa team are also planning to attend Ethereum Singapore and ETHGlobal conferences to connect with developers and businesses in the EVM space.

Sandra Helou, CEO of Zilliqa Group venture MetaMinds, will be travelling to Riyadh in Saudia Arabia, where she will be speaking at the GAINSummit.
