AMA Highlights - The future of Real-World Assets with Brillion and Zilliqa
Check out the highlights from the AMA session with Brillion and Zilliqa on Real-World Assets.
On August 1st, Zilliqa and Brillion hosted a live AMA to share and discuss the exciting potential of their recently announced partnership.
Brillion is a market-leading Web3 smart wallet that specialises in securely managing real-world assets (RWAs), and their vision of bridging the worlds of traditional and decentralised finance aligns with Zilliqa's goal of making Web3 as easy as possible.
This collaboration will see Brillion serve as a trusted wallet partner to Zilliqa, with an initial focus on supporting the network’s requirements for enterprise-scale real-world asset tokenisation. Zilliqa is also part of Brillion's Early Adopter Programme, providing valuable feedback to help tailor the platform to the needs of layer-1 and layer-2 networks.
Zilliqa CEO Matt Dyer and Head of Product Anton Agafonov were joined by Brillion CEO Nibras Stiebar-Bang and CPO Gantavya Sharma on X Spaces, where they explored this partnership and its context in the wider industry.

Buying a Horse and Partnering for Ease-of-Use
Before diving into the partnership between Brillion and Zilliqa, Matt Dyer began by addressing Zilliqa's recent purchase of a racehorse, a unique moment in blockchain history that will raise eyebrows and awareness of Web3 on the racetrack.
“I think from a real-world asset perspective, it's quite an exciting thing to have. It was something we did around a project that we have partnered with Racing League on called The Winners Circle, and a lot of the ethos of what we are trying to do there from an ownership and fan engagement perspective and offer more value back to fans of horse racing,” Matt said.
“A big component of that is clearly ownership, and fractional ownership of horses is a great use case that resonates with the fans. Purchasing a horse and having a digital twin enables us to have a compelling activation from a marketing perspective.”
He then moved on to the key aspects of Zilliqa’s partnership with Brillion and how it fits into Zilliqa’s strategy.
“We're looking to be at the forefront of the blockchain technology space, and one of the ways to drive growth from a layer-one perspective is around strategic partnerships and those integrations to foster a healthy and sustainable ecosystem.”
“As we move towards launching our Jasper proto-testnet and starting to onboard new participants into our ecosystem, it's become the right time to build partnerships like we are doing with Brillion,” Matt said.
“User centricity is a key component for our strategy, and I know Brillion is all about abstracting the complexity from a wallet perspective. If you look at some of the other ventures in the Zilliqa Group such as MetaMinds in the luxury sector, the onboarding experience is key to that platform and it is important to have a partner that makes that experience as seamless as possible.”
New financial opportunities and the hype around real-world assets
Nibras Stiebar-Bang shared her excitement around how this partnership unlocks new opportunities for retail and business users in a way that is accessible to everyone.
“At Brillion, our goal is that we want to make millions of users reach their financial goals, and how you do that in the future is to enable people to invest in more assets."
"We really need to abstract away all complexity for the user. My vision is that I want a user to be able to come in and just tell us as a wallet provider they want to be able to invest in ZIL because they believe in the Zilliqa ecosystem," Nibras said.
"Almost 90% of the people who want to enter crypto leave and they go to an exchange because it's just too hard. So how do we get them into the ecosystem, and how do we get them to understand what it is about and be part of this amazing community building that we have? I'm happy that we have a layer-one such as Zilliqa to work with us to bring that to the world."
When asked about the growing hype around real-world assets in the Web3 space, Anton Agafonov explained how Zilliqa and Brillion are poised to benefit from this:"We are very optimistic and positive on real-world assets coming to the Web3 world. We believe that this creates more transparency, more liquidity and lowers risk, especially with asset fragmentation. In the real world right now, there is a lot of friction, you have to find a broker and it is all regionalised - there are a lot of constraints."
“We are eager to see the next step of tokenisation coming, the next wave where people can trade an abundance of real-world assets such as commodities, real estate, luxury goods, or financial instruments,” Anton said.
“We believe that partners like Brillion will bring us the ease of use to deliver this value to the end-user while we provide the tokenisation and infrastructure that facilitates this functionality on the transaction level. We're looking forward to real-world assets gaining more momentum and delivering a similar experience as centralised trading today.”
Growing B2B and B2C adoption with Zilliqa 2.0
The next questions covered how the partnership between Brillion and Zilliqa ties into the upcoming launch of Zilliqa 2.0, and how this complements Brillon’s wallet platform.
"Zilliqa 2.0 is designed with user centricity first in mind. So how do we kind of drive that adoption?” Matt said.
“If you take a look at what the likes of Avalanche are doing and getting some good traction in the real-world asset space, a lot of that is driven around the ability to subnet, and have your validation done on your own ecosystem while still using a public blockchain.”
"With our new consensus and approach, Zilliqa 2.0 has that capability, so when you start to think about real-world asset opportunities where there may be a requirement to control your environment while maximising the capability of a public blockchain, we are very well positioned to offer a solution for that." he added.
Nibras expanded on how Brillion’s platform could enable this adoption by offering an easy-to-use wallet platform running on Zilliqa 2.0.
"What we are offering Zilliqa is what they in turn will then offer everyone building on top of them, which is an extremely easy to use and manageable wallet solution, so they in turn can then focus all the applications they want to build and don't have to stress about the wallet infrastructure.”
"We will be that puzzle in the middle, helping everyone out and making sure that they know how to integrate it and how to work around it," Nibras said.
The speakers fielded a range of questions across different topics throughout the AMA, giving more context about Zilliqa’s decision to buy a horse, as well as exploring subjects like multi-chain dApps and wallet security.
